XtremeData, Inc. provides dbX, a parallel database engine for analytics designed to run on commodity hardware in the virtualized infrastructure of private and public clouds. Its solution’s features include parallel architecture, vector execution model, SQL acceleration, dynamic data redistribution, automatic load balancing, multi-tenancy, scale out/scale up, and hardware recommendations.
Ravi Chandran
CEO/CTO
As co-founder and CTO, Ravi Chandran is responsible for product vision and engineering. Ravi brings deep expertise in high-speed computing and product development. He holds patents in data compression and digital system design. Ravi has many years of experience in architecting parallel processing and disk storage systems.

Prior to XtremeData, Ravi was the founder and president of Binary Machines, Inc., a provider of specialized engineering consultancy services in high-speed computing systems. Ravi was COO and VP of Engineering for Bio-Imaging Research, Inc (BIR). As a senior member of BIR's technical staff, Ravi played a lead role both in technical design and in general management, working extensively with clients in Japan, Europe, and the United States. Ravi holds a BE in electrical engineering from the University of Madras, an ME in electrical engineering from the University of Texas, and an MBA from Northwestern University.

Jay Desai
SVP Business  Development
Jay is XtremeData’s principle product visionary and go-to-market strategist. A veteran of the Big Data space, Jay was a co-founder and managing partner of Knightsbridge Solutions. Knightsbridge was recognized as the leader in the data warehouse analytics consulting industry and was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 2007 and incorporated into HP’s Business Intelligence Solutions group.

Jay has over fifteen years experience in IT strategy planning, data warehouse design and implementation, marketing channel development. Earlier in his career Jay assisted leading global telecommunications providers in network planning. Jay has a BS in Telecommunications Engineering from University of Essex.

K.T. Sridhar
Chief Software Architect
Sridhar heads the R&D center and is responsible for dbX product development and engineering. His industry experience includes delivery of products and custom software solutions in databases, GIS, computational geometry, real-time systems and parallel processing to global clients. He co-founded Pegasus Software Consultants, India, and played a key role in developing GIS products with IDBI venture funding, deploying them in India and licensing modules to PCI Geomatics, Canada. He has been a Consultant to Arbitron and flipside.com in the US, and Citibank's Indian subsidiary COSL.

Prior to moving to industry, he was in academics as R&D Scientist at NCST, TIFR, Mumbai, and as Research Fellow at PRG, OUCL, Oxford University, UK, on a UNDP fellowship. He has authored a book on Pascal programming, published technical papers, been a speaker at conferences/seminars and NCST course faculty, and was a member of the first executive council of Indian Society of Geomatics. Sridhar holds an MTech in computer science from IIT Kanpur and a BE Honors in electronics and communication engineering from the University of Madras.

James Benbow
Chief System Architect
James (Jim) leads the group that architects optimized dbX platforms and configurations. He was a founder and VP of Binary Machines and Embedded Digital Designs. His experience includes end-to-end project development responsibility for complex electro-mechanical systems and has led hardware development teams on several large design projects in medical and industrial x-ray systems.

Jim was chief engineer on a multi-million dollar project for development of a mobile nuclear waste inspection imaging system for U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Jim has experience with all phases of the product development cycle from concept to production. He holds a patent for hardware in-socket accelerators. Jim has a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Susan Clarke
Finance and Admin
Susan has been the VP of Finance and Administration for XtremeData, as a full-time employee in the past, and currently in an external role. While at XtremeData Susan deployed the ERP system in use today, established internal business processes, handled investor relations and directed all finance and administrative aspects of the business.

Prior to her role with XtremeData she founded and built a CPA practice primarily focused on small businesses in manufacturing, construction and services. The practice was successfully sold in 2007 after 15 years in business. Occasionally, Susan also teaches Cost Accounting at the local community college. Susan is a CPA and earned her (BS) in Business from Elmhurst College and (MS) in Taxation from Northern Illinois University.
